Oh, oh, oh what a lovely wedding – Louise and Karl and a Cornish Fort

…Just got your email and oh my goodness…Can not tell you how happy we are with these pictures!! Absolutely fantastic! Just brought it all flooding back and you really have captured the day so well… I love them, as does Karl. So pleased, thank you so much! You were amazing the whole weekend and it was great having you there. We are both so grateful to you and your husband!…

Louise and Karl are both serving officers and this combined with Karl’s obsession passion for all things British led them, naturally, to a wedding that was all about the red, white and blue.

This, then, was a day that was coyly and wonderfully vintage. Not slavishly so but one that celebrated the best bits and made for a riot of colour and fun.

Red spotty dresses for the girls – check!

Old Beetle to replace the very lovely old Morris that went KABOOM the day before the wedding – check!

Old army van – check! Jeep to tow it and us it the Church when it, too, goes KABOOM! half way up the hill – check!

Mini cream teas as canapes – check!

More swords than you can shake a stick at? Oh, yes.

Very British beer adorned with a quote from Winston Churchill. Naturally…

Oh, and Louise – one of the best legs in garters ever (and one that had me reaching for the ryvita. *too.much.cake*)

And speaking of cake – did you see it? Did you? A.MAZ.ING. And made by a family member. Just awesome.

As ever, I may have gone a teeny tiny bit overboard of the sea views but it’s just so hard not to, dang it!

I think that’s enough from me – to the pictures!

This next shot – not technically perfect but I love it and it’s not so very bad for a hand-held long exposure. SO.MANY.STARS!
