Jane and Brian’s Plymouth ‘make-do-and-mend’ wedding

Ma, he’s making eyes at me

Ma, he’s awful nice to me…

Ma, he wants to marry me

High jinx. Tomfoolery. Shenanigans.
Fun. Love. Laughter.

Exactly what you’d expect from an April Fool’s wedding for a couple that have been together FOREVER.

Tears. Dancing. Delight.
(And pasties and cream tea because this is, after all, Devon, my lovelies)

Jane and Brian are family friends so I was beyond thrilled to be invited along to document their wedding/drink all of the wine. And it was really strange to be working (yes, I do like to pretend that what I do is work) with my family in attendance.

You know, it’s a funny ole lark, this wedding photography game.
You have to be in love with it to be able to do it. To make it hang together. To make it go along. And you really have to be a little bit in love with your couple to make it all work. And today this really wasn’t difficult.

Lucy, you are a very talented lady. You’ve caught the atmosphere and the delight of the day, all the fun and the pleasure and the friendship of a wedding party.

It was great to meet you and your inspirational children. They added another element of fun to the day.

As the song says “Thanks for the memory”.
