Flora and Johnny – a Tamar Valley wedding

‘Can we? Shall we? One day very soon. Let us go away together. Just you and me.

Can we? Shall we? Call in sick one day and travel to the sea and hold hands all day.

Can we? Shall we? Eat our sandwiches on the train. Get drunk on fresh air and come home tired and never tell anyone…ever’

Rob Ryan

Back to my beautiful valley today for Flora and Johnny’s utterly marvelous wedding adventure.

After a week of frankly disasterous weather, all eyes were on the skies as the clouds rolled in and out, and the rain came down.

I absolutely loved shooting this wedding. I’ve never been to a wedding where I’m known so many people – and all from previous weddings. Indeed, I met Johnny’s dad when I was covering Nicky and Tobies wedding in Greece last year about two days after Flora and Johnny had booked me for theirs.

To the edge of Dartmoor, then, with her rolling hills and tree flocked valleys. Vast and sweeping vistas and, nestled away, a hill on which stands a marquee bursting with flowers and so so much love. And a family home in the lee of the church, where we start our tale.
