I adore shooting weddings – I do!
They rock.

I get hugely excited about shooting weddings.
There’s a unique blend of personal meets formal meets tender meets exuberance to a wedding.
I love that sense of a family and friends standing together quietly for a brief spell before the future comes rushing in.
You just can’t beat it.

I specialised in photography for my honours degree – many very happy hours have been spent pootling about in darkrooms. I still shoot film occasionally but must admit to being really rather wowed and wooed by digital.

On your wedding day I’ll be shooting mostly in a reportage style. I can, if needed, also shoot some group formals but to keep the flow of the day I try to keep these to a minimum. I’m a happy low-key gal – no need for me to be dancing in the light – and the way I shoot reflects this.

For an engagement and for a rock the frock shoot, however, the feel is much more fine art portraiture based and is limited only by the imagination. Fancy a shoot in Paris? If you’re happy to cover the relevant costs you’re on!

Whenever possible my second shooter is my husband Chris. You’ll love him. He’s funny and is pretty nifty with a kettle – not to mention a camera.

So, why choose me? After all, there are LOTS of wedding photographers out there. Yup, that’s undeniably true.
Perhaps what sets me apart is my total (cough *obsessive*cough) dedication to the art of wedding photography. I’m constantly striving to push boundaries and perfect my approach.
Plus, I’m kinda lovable in a saggy-side-of-thirty and faintly bimbling way. Add to that experience, flexibility and down-to-earth practicality and you have, in a nutshell, the joy that is Lucy Turnbull Photography.

I love what I do. I know it’s a terrible cliche but it really is an honour to be invited to shoot someone’s wedding.
I’m based in beautiful Cornwall but am available to photograph weddings further afield.
