Mel and Woo and Sidney came, too – a secret Penzance elopement

“May your love for me be
like
the scent of the evening sea

drifting in
through a quiet window

so i do not have to run
or chase or fall
… to feel you

all i have to do
is
breathe.”
― Sanober Khan

Ah, the pointy end. It’s crazy how very infrequently I venture down to there on the whole.

And that’s sad as it’s utterly magnificent. Beautiful. A touch desolate. Wild – oh so very wild it makes your heart weep. It’s no suprise that it’s where Mel and Woo decided to set up home and that very home is where we start today’s wedding story.

A quiet morning of pottering and then into the landie for a short ceremony (and small – so small that the winesses were me and the security guard) in Penzance before hitting Gwyvner beach.

This elopement kinda epitomizes what it is I love about my job so much. That it needn’t be all about the details – very lovely though they may be – and that what it’s all about, ultimately, is two people looking deep into each other and discovering, perhaps with a small shock, that in them they have finally found their home. Their quiet spot of sunshine in an otherwise stormy world. That other voice that fills and rounds out the small quiet song of their heart.

That it’s all about love and connection and the freedom and desire to shout from the rooftops ‘I LOVE YOU’

Yeah, I like my job
